Today’s discovery; we have 3 days instead of 2 to get to our final destination. WOW! How often have I wished I could gain time? What a pleasant surprise! We were rewarded with an unexpected stop at the Miramar Monetary.
This 13th century monestary was a place of education. There were posters up of some of the teachings, interesting to place the thoughts of that time.
The building is a mish-mosh of styles, the grounds have sweeping olive orchards and beautiful views of the sea.
But what was most interesting…. the olive oil press!
For those of you who purchase your virgin olive oil, you will appreciate this. The olives were traditionally put on this rock “mortar & pestal” type set up and then a donkey (or humans before) would walk in a circle pushing the stone. The oil from the first press is the virgin oil!
So much to learn, so many surprises! Thank you Mallorca!

Heather,
The second photo you attached is of the 4 Humors and associated conditions. I was just explaining that to my Anatomy class yesterday. Sounds like a wonderful experience.
